Swan Lake
Lara started ballet lessons at the beginning of September. This coming Wednesday will be her 8th lesson. She is the youngest in her class and a mess most of the time, but we are soooo proud of her. The teacher told her she needed to practice more and we do: every morning and evening she is doing a few stretches that are supposed to help with her flexibility.
The title of the post? No, she hasn't got the lead part of Swan Lake (yet!) Soon after she started ballet classes, Albert surprised us with tickets to Swan Lake. Not just any Swan Lake, but the Odessa Ballet rendition. It was great. Really beautiful. And Bogdan and Lara handled the over-two-hour-long show great! They followed every dance, named each character (it helped that we read three different versions of the story before hand), commented on the costumes. It was a lot of fun. Not sure the people behind us in the nose bleeding section had the same opinion but we loved it.
Bogdan asked questions non-stop. One of them was, "How come their skirts do not fall off?" Good one , Bogdan! To most of them my answer was, "Shhh... we'll talk during the break". To Bubba's question about her favorite part, she answered that she liked the Black Swan, because she was nice to the prince, too.
And thus the Cooks entered the world of high class opera...
