New Favorite Story

OK, after Noah's Ark, Jesus' Crucifixion, Pharoh's army -- we finally have a new favorite story. Are you ready? It's is about Moses going up on Mount Sinai and getting the stones with the 10 commandments. Only with a slight twist. As he was reading the story to the kids, Albert asked them: "What do you think were the commandments God gave His people?" Lara and Bogdan thought about it and they came up with:
- no screaming
- no hitting
- no crying
- no spanking
Great commandments. I think they should be no.11-14. The problem is that now, two weeks later, they STILL think this is exactly what was written on the tables of stone Moses brought back from the mountain. I think it is Albert's fault, because, instead of continuing the story, after they gave their suggestions, he just said that he would read the second part, the one with the actual commandments, the following day. Too much time for them to think about their 'made up' commandments.

Lara is a "do-it-yourself" kind of girl. She usually wants to do everything by herself. While Bogdan loooves for us to read to him, Lara looooves for her to read to us (or to herself). So, if you were at our house these days you would very likely hear her read from her Bible: "And God told Pharoh, 'Let my people go!'..." As the pages keep turning, "And God told the people, 'no screaming, no hitting, no crying, no spaking'... And he had a donkey... And he was mean, and he had mean feet." OK, now that I've got to see. So I stop stirring whatever I am cooking and I go see: "Lara, who was it that had mean feet?" I look in her book and see the statue in Daniel's dream - the golden head was mean-looking indeed, and the iron and clay feet... well, what can I say -- just mean!
