Words

Surprised, aren't you?!?

Every now and then Mommy opens this book, something about babies. A couple of weeks ago I overheard her telling Daddy that the book says: "Most toddlers master at least fifty spoken words by the end of the second year and can talk in sentences." And something like, "boys generally develop language skills more slowly than girls."

Since then she started making lists of words I can say. Now, please define the word "master" for me. I say Nana for Mama, and I certainly "master" that word. Does that count?

Well, here is most of the list, there may be a couple of words missing. You will notice some of them are in English and some are in Romanian. I don't know which is which just yet!
- apa (Ro. for water)
- Daddy
- Mama/Nana (both for Mommy)
- fish
- arde (it's hot)
- alta (I use it for "book", but it really means "another"/"one more")
- pisi (short for "pisica", meaning "cat")
- papa (short for "papagal", Ro. for "parrot")
- gata (equivalent of "all gone")
- ma (short for "mar" = apple)
- api (personal version of orange/portocala)
- ba (banana)
- eye
- ne (for nose)
- gu' (short for gura = mouth)
- teeth
- bee
- bear
- plis
- up
- ham (Ro. for "ruff ruff)
- caca
- pipi
- vezi (Ro. for "see")
- pa
- bye
- ba (for ball)
- late ("lapte" = milk)
- bubble
- blow
- ba (for bird - different than ball)
- iss (for kiss)
I know there must be a few more but I cannot think about them right now. I guess I need to go learn 20 more words in the next three months. I will let you know how that goes.
Bye for now.
Bogdan

I knew that you a bright little boy and would excel in most everything. Now I want to learn who I am and hopefully we can carry on a great conversation when you get here later this year. I love you and look forward to seeing you. I love the pictures you posted of your trip to the sea. Thanks.
